Privacy policy
How we handle your information.
The short version. We only collect what we need to do your marketing. We never sell it. Nothing gets posted without your yes. You can ask to see, fix or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
Burgal Studio is an Australian business. We plan, make and post marketing content for businesses and organisations, run a client app, and build websites and small AI tools. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, even where a business our size does not have to.
2. What we collect
When you visit this website
- Basic visit records. Our host keeps the time, the page, your IP address and your browser type, to keep the site safe and running.
- No ad trackers. This site has no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies. If we ever add visit counting, we will update this page first.
When you contact us or start a free trial
- Your name, your business, your email or phone, and what you tell us.
- For a trial: the video you send us, and the clips we make from it.
When you become a client
- Your business details, billing details and the videos, photos and words you give us.
- Team access to your social pages. We never ask for your passwords.
- The numbers from your pages: views, followers and messages, so we can show you what works.
- The details inside your app, like your customers' names and messages. You own this. We only use it to do the work for you.
- The clip pages we run for you are set up in your business name, on phones we own.
3. Why we use it
- To reply to you, and to plan, make and post your content.
- To learn what your customers want to hear: we look at public posts, reviews and questions about your kind of business.
- To show you your results in your app and in your weekly text.
- To send invoices and keep the records the law asks for.
- To send you news about our services, only if you said yes. You can stop it any time.
4. AI and the tools we use
We use AI tools to help write, cut, caption and make pictures and videos. Your videos and words may pass through these tools to do the work. We pick tools that do not use your content to train their AI, where we can choose. A person checks the work before you see it.
When we make a made-up person or character with AI, we say so where the app or the law asks us to.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with the services that help us do the work, and only what they need:
| Service | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Google Cloud | This website and your app | Singapore and other Google regions |
| AI services | Writing, cutting, captions, pictures and videos | Mostly the United States |
| Web research tools | Reading public posts, reviews and rivals' ads | United States and Europe |
| Email and text services | Messages you ask us to send to your customers | Australia and the United States |
| The social apps | Posting your content | Where each app keeps its data |
| Our domain and email host | Our website address and inbox | United States and Europe |
| Our accountant and bank | Invoices, tax and records | Australia |
Some of these are overseas. We choose services with strong security, and we stay responsible for how your information is handled.
6. How we keep it safe
- Every client's information is walled off from every other client's.
- Logins use two-step sign-in where the app allows it. We use team access, not passwords.
- Only the people doing your work can see it.
- If something goes wrong with your information, we will tell you, and the regulator if the law asks.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your content while you are a client. When you leave, we hand over your clip page logins and delete your content within 90 days, unless you ask us to keep it. Tax records stay for 5 years, as the law asks.
8. Your choices
- Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Ask us to fix it, or delete it.
- Stop marketing messages at any time.
Email hello@burgalstudio.com (opening soon). We reply within 30 days.
9. Not happy?
Tell us first and we will try to fix it. If you are still not happy, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
